Frequently asked questions

I’ve never done yoga. Will I be ok?

Absolutely. All classes and retreats are catered to all levels unless otherwise stated. We will give options for all poses and make sure you feel comfortable and confident and assist wherever you may need a helping hand.

What should I bring?

Both Level Six and Psycle provide lovely mats so you don’t need anything. I suggest bringing a small towel if you sweat a lot. And don’t worry if you do, I’m a big sweater!!

What should I wear?

It’s easy to get swept up in the fashion of yoga. but the truth is all you need is clothes you feel comfortable in and that allow you to move freely. Generally we practice barefoot, so don't worry about footwear.

Isn’t Yoga just stretching?

No. Yoga is really becoming more aware of yourself through your body and the poses you assume. It can also be a challenging workout in its vinyasa style or completely relaxing (as with Yin). We also work on strength by holding poses to support our joints. In short, yoga is medicine for the body and mind. A natural healer to the body and soul.

If I have an injury can I come?

Absolutely; in fact I got into yoga because of an injury. Yoga is a great way to see how your body is doing in a safe and controlled environment. It also helps loosen the tightness around the inflicted area which can speed up recovery. Just let me know what’s injured and I can give you tailored modifications.

How long are the classes?

Usually 60 to 90 minutes. My workshops are 2 hours and here we really unpack the moves and intentions behind the poses to get a deeper understanding.
